Q: FAQs - Employment Procedures > (IV) When is the start date of the employment for the intermediate skilled job employment permit issued by the Ministry of Labor for international and overseas Chinese graduates? Is it necessary to renew the employment permit every three years?


Answer:

"1. When hiring international and overseas Chinese graduates holding an associate or higher degree earned from a college or university in Taiwan, employers may apply for the employment permit before the estimated date of employment. When hiring international and overseas Chinese graduates overseas or domestically for hospitality jobs, the validity of the employment permit shall start from the estimated date of employment. If the review period of the Ministry of Labor is after the estimated date of employment, the document issuing date of the Ministry of Labor shall be start date of the employment permit. 2. For international and overseas Chinese graduates hired for hospitality jobs by an employer, the maximum duration of the employment permit shall be three years. However, the limit on the duration of an employment period shall not apply to foreign workers granted permanent residency."
