After intermediate skilled foreign workers arrive in Taiwan, employer must assist them in applying for an ARC within 30 days. If the application is submitted after the specified period, a fine will be imposed according to the Immigration Act. The ARC extension must be applied for within 3 months prior to the expiration of the residence permit.
(1) Application for ARC
Within thirty (30) days of the intermediate skilled worker's entry into Taiwan, the employer must submit the employment Permit issued by the Ministry of Labor, the worker's passport, the employment certificate (As for the business unit, it must have the company and the responsible person's seals affixed), and 4 ID photos to the regional service stations of the NIA where the intermediate skilled worker's accommodation (workplace) to apply for an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) and Fingerprint Card.

(2) Application for Residence Extension:
The employer must submit the worker's passport and the employment extension permit issued by the Ministry of Labor to apply for a residence extension within the validity period of the employment permit. Those who do not comply with this regulation and overstay will be fined and required to leave Taiwan.

(3) Application for Consecutive Employment Residence
A new employer who consecutively employs an intermediate skilled worker from another employer must submit the worker's passport, ARC, employment certificate, and a letter of attorney (if the worker is unable to appear in person) to the Regional Service Stations of the NIA, where the worker's accommodation (workplace) is located, to update the employer's name, workplace information, and alternative contact details.

(4) Fees
NTD 1,000 for one-year validity. In principle, the intermediate skilled worker is responsible for this cost, or it may be stipulated by the employer and worker in the contract.
